Dr Aniss G. E. Chami, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Vitex Pharmaceuticals is widely regarded as an industry leader with unrivalled experience and qualifications. Under Dr Chami’s leadership, Vitex has been cemented as a leading Australian manufacturer of high quality complementary medicines.
Dr Chami graduated from Macquarie University completing his Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours (B Med Sci) (Hon). He went on to complete his Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) at the University of Sydney, before completing his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the prestigious Sydney School of Medicine, University of Notre Dame. Dr Chami also holds a Master’s Degree in Financial Management (MFM) and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) at the world-ranking Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
Dr Chami is currently a prominent member of the industry’s representative association the Complementary Medicines Association of Australia (CMA) and is the Chair of the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Manufacturing and Quality Committee which liaises directly with the federal regulator of medicines manufacture, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), on issues pertaining to quality, compliance and manufacturing standards.
With a remarkable list of credentials, Dr Chami is also one of the youngest CEOs in the industry. Unequivocally, however, he is considered as one of the most experienced – having been immersed in the industry at an early age under the tutelage of his father, Vitex Chairman, Elie Chami. He was recently named 2018 winner of the prestigious ‘Manufacturing Executive of the Year Award’ by CEO Magazine, his second consecutive win in the same category.
Having established one of the few Australian-owned manufacturing organisations in complementary medicine, Dr Chami is passionate about Australian-made product. He has created a culture and international reputation for innovative quality systems underscored by an entrepreneurial spirit. Above all, he has shown that profitability and integrity can go hand in hand.
Latify leads the company’s business operations, executing Vitex’s business strategy and ensuring operational excellence company-wide. During Latify’s 15 year tenure with Vitex, she has overseen the scaling of operations across the enterprise including planning, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain strategy and deployment.
Latify holds a Bachelor of Arts in History, Politics and Philosophy from University of Western Sydney, a Masters of Business Administration and a Masters of Management from Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
With over 10 years as a procurement professional, Lucie has been involved in developing all manufacturing-based projects from inception to approval. Lucie coordinates closely with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver feasible and economic outcomes to achieve pharmaceutical manufacturing distinction. Combining technical and strategic frameworks through all project facilitations, Lucie is continuously setting new benchmarks in procurement excellence and delivering significant and measurable ROI across key business units. Lucie drives a dynamic procurement team who are relentless in keeping up with market trends both nationally and on a global scale.
Lucie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, a Masters of International Business and International Relations from Macquarie University, Sydney and recently completed her Masters of Business Administration from Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
Having been immersed in the pharmaceutical industry for over a decade, Anthony is a seasoned expert in pharmaceutical manufacturing, management, training and procedures. Overseeing planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes and equipment, Anthony is responsible for ensuring goods and services are produced efficiently while maintaining the integrity and quality of products.
Anthony holds a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from University of Sydney and Bachelor of Architectural Computing from University of New South Wales.
An experienced strategic communications specialist in PR, Sales and Marketing, Christine has managed high profile clients and brands across Travel and Tourism, Retail, Technology, Beauty and Non-Profit sectors focusing on building brand equity, driving engagement and generating advocacy. With a proven record in driving commercial and brand initiatives that have delivered outstanding revenue and market share growth, Christine has applied her broad experience and expertise to develop strategic executional plans to build awareness and drive growth at Vitex.
As a dynamic and results-driven consultant, she has worked with global and national leading brands including Emirates Group, Vail Resorts, MasterCard, McDonald’s, Dymocks, Solta Medical, Telstra, NRMA, Sony and Microsoft. Christine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Advertising from University of Technology, Sydney.
William is a veteran senior executive with over 20 years of international experience in London, New York and Sydney.
Before joining Vitex, William helped prepare the NSW Electricity Assets for privatisation as GM Program Management and Investment Governance, Networks NSW, the parent company of Ausgrid, Endeavour and Essential Energy. Prior to that he held various senior executive roles at Thomson Reuters where he was CFO for Australia/NZ, and Global Head of Finance for their Investment Banking business, based in New York.
Under William’s stewardship, Vitex has strengthened its position with an ongoing focus on operational efficiency, and the deployment of transformational process changes at its new advanced manufacturing facility. Driving Vitex’s financial and organisational performance, William leads the company’s functions in finance & accounting, strategy, tax, treasury, audit and risk management, information technology and corporate development.
William holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics & Accounting)/Bachelor of Science from Australian National University, and an MBA with Distinction from Columbia Business School and London Business School.
Graham has a wealth of pharmaceutical manufacturing expertise with over 30 years of working for leading global brands including ICI, Colgate-Palmolive, Sterling-Winthrop, GlaxoSmithKline, Boots Australia, and Janssen-Cilag. Graham has experience in large-scale manufacturing of FMCG, personal care, registered and veterinary medicines with governance across several product formats such as aerosols, liquids, suspensions, semi-solids, powders, tablets and capsules.
With an extensive background in product development and technology transfer, Graham has a proven track record in overcoming technical challenges to ensure a successful and compliant product. He has spearheaded the overhaul and maintenance of world class quality systems, as well as implemented key process optimisations across all areas of production.
As Chief Quality Officer at Vitex, Graham oversees the broad portfolio of products that are manufactured at Vitex and governs end-to-end processes ensuring product quality, compliance and safety are paramount.
Graham holds an Honours degree in Science and Graduate Certificate in Drug Development from the University of New South Wales and a Master of Business from the University of Western Sydney.
Sue is a Human Resources specialist bringing over 20 years of experience having worked for leading local and global manufacturers such as ASI, Lafarge Holcim, Knauf as well as Tradelink.
Sue is a collaborative and results oriented leader with a passion and appreciation that people are every organisation’s greatest asset and has proven skills in Australia and Asia Pacific. With expertise in environments of growth Sue has applied her experience to the development and execution of long term growth plans, HR alignment to Vitex’s business strategy, and change management initiatives that will ensure our people are equipped to support Vitex’s growth ambitions.
Certified by the Australian Human Resources Institute as a Human Resource professional (CAHRI). Sue also holds post graduate qualifications in Management with Charles Sturt University, completed her strategic development and HR generalist training in Paris, France and is a certified workplace assessor and trainer.
